Back in October, we sent you a correspondence about data integrity and security as they relate to our electronic document delivery systems (ie BankEx and The Express Button). Since then, you may have received letters about updates to security regulations from various service providers dealing with sensitive data such as Equifax, or FCT Default Solutions.
Service providers such as those noted above that handle sensitive personal or financial information must adhere to strict compliance standards known as PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). As part of these standards, an upgrade to the security protocols used for electronic communication has been mandated by the Payment Card industry with a hard implantation date of June, 2018. Specifically, providers will be required to use the TLS 1.2 encryption protocol, and TLS 1.1 and 1.0 will no longer be compliant. We have been working hard to stay well ahead of this implementation date.
So with all of that being said, we are happy to inform you that in our upcoming Ascend release the Express Button service will be updated to communicate via TLS 1.2. This will ensure secure end-to-end communication between your firm and the BankEx delivery system.
With the topics of privacy and information security increasingly in the public focus, Promeric will remain committed to ensuring that your data stays secure.
